The start of the new financial year always reminds me to reflect a little. It was this time five years ago when I embarked on the journey of self employment (or unemployment as I liked to refer to it back then). I was originally going to write this post as a letter to my past self but then I decided that although I constantly celebrate the past, this time, I was going to explore the future. This year, I am going to write a letter to my future self. The one I wish to become and hopefully will serve as a reminder of where I am headed.

My Future

Dear Future Sharon,

I hope that when you are reading this one day in the not too distant future that you are still happy (and have found time to relax a little). I know you would have crossed a whole bunch of stuff off our bucket list too 🙂 I plan for you to be sewing like a pro!

I hope that during the hard times when things may not go according to plan or when everything goes to poo that you remember that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. And that nothing is the end of the world.

I know you will continue to follow your own path and stay away from those who want to force you to follow what they think life should be. I bet you are also braver too!

I am seriously hoping that you have allowed yourself to rest more, be more active and spend more time outside of the cake bubble. I know you will still love cakes but I am hoping you will also have discovered life 🙂

Lots of love,

Well said Sharon. All the best with the new book and anything else you choose to take on to try in the future.
